What an absolute corker of an evening! Despite being exhausted (only got about 4 hours sleep last night) and working in London again this week, I dragged myself to running club – I think had it not been Juneathon and the fact that I had scoffed a whole bag of sweets earlier in the day, I would have talked myself out of it. I’m really glad I didn’t though. We started off with the usual warm up (2 laps around the track) then we had to run a timed mile around the track. I wasn’t feeling my usual chipper self and managed 8.5 minutes. After that we ran for 25 minutes (4 minutes usual pace then 1 minute of faster pace). Frankly I cheated a bit because the first 10 minutes felt a bit laboured. After the full 25 minutes though I’d got into the swing of it – I noticed it takes me a while to warm up and find my running rhythm. I was then raring to do the 200m sprints!
