Today I ran in Park run (5k) and tried out a new workout DVD – Fit in 5 to 20 minutes Legs, bum and tum attack. I’ve got a few workout DVDs in my collection now, but apart from Davina and Jillian Michaels DVDs, which are consistently good, more often than not they end up in the workout DVD graveyard. I’m afraid this one probably will too for a number of reasons:
1) It started straight away (no short intro – nothing) so I started on the back foot
2) I found it really hard to follow – arguably I am the least coordinated person, but the spinning around, crossing legs and side stepping was too much to take in
3) The cardio bit didn’t feel like I was doing enough (I prefer more jumping, jogging on the spot exercises to get the heart rate up)
4) I really struggled to understand what the woman was saying
The only good points are the floor exercise section – my glutes are aching now – and that you have a choice of workout lengths, which is great if you are really busy.
Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5.
